Chief- John Draper

John is our Chief of the Noble Vikings of Orange County in this year of our lord 2024 and joined our fine organization in 2018.  John manages a bevy of Financial Advisors for a large Wealth Management firm in Newport Beach and Laguna Beach.  John is a member of many local clubs and organizations including the Los Caballeros, Elks, BYC, FAC,  Atlas PAC, Newport Beach Tennis Club and Balboa Angling Club.  John is married to his wife Stacy who is a realtor at Compass in Newport Beach. John’s favorite motto is, “Vision without Action is Hallucination.”

Co-Chief- Ed McLaughlin

A Boston native and wicked proud father of two, he has over 37 years of experience in securities, strategic planning, negotiations, corporate finance and served as the CEO of a publicly traded company. Grateful for all of his blessings, Ed donates his time, talent, or treasure to worthy organizations such as the Noble Viking Charities of Orange County, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Tim Tebow Foundation, Special Olympics, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Green Beret Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Navy Seal Foundation, and the California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation.

Past Chief – Ryan Smith
Ryan is a litigation partner at the Orange County office of Allen Matkins. Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College and his law degree from UCLA. Before attending college, Ryan served as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps and is a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Ryan and his wife Allison have twins, Colt & Reagan. Aside from being active with the Vikings, Ryan is a committee member for the annual Let’s Be Frank About Cancer fundraiser for City of Hope and a trustee for the November 10th Association. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, scuba diving, skiing, and reading military history.

Past Chief– Kevin Trussell
When asked about himself, Kevin usually begins talking about his daughters and ends with a fishing story. Jennifer graduated from Texas Christian University and works as a nurse in an intensive care unit. Reagan studied economics at University of Oregon and is now a realtor.

Kevin earned his business degrees from Washington State University. He owns two businesses, one supplies specialty lumber products to manufacturers and retailers. The second business is involved in the management and rehabilitation of multi-family housing.

His interests include fishing, shooting, hiking, biking, and skiing. Aside from being very active with the Vikings, he volunteers with the Irvine Junior Games, City of Hope, and serves on the Community service Commission for the City of Irvine.

It was a 275 lb blue marlin in the Sea of Cortez.

Secretary – Andy Prochnow
Andy practices as a commercial real estate and corporate law transactional attorney in Costa Mesa with the firm Buckner, Robinson & Mirkovich. Andy earned his bachelor’s degree from USC and his law degree from Santa Clara University. When not spending time working with the Vikings, Andy enjoys racquetball, golf, sailing, and spending time with friends and family. Andy and his wife, Katie, welcomed their first daughter, Claire, in 2018.
